This isn't particularly animation-related, but in the face of a disaster of unprecedented magnitude, I think a small deviation is allowed. By now we're all aware of the destruction wrought by hurricane Katrina, and the losses that the citizens of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama have suffered. Many want to do their parts to help; here in Houston, we're housing thousands of refugees in hotels and makeshift disaster centers. My living room and spare bedroom are currently home to a small tangle of refugees--my family, evacuated from New Orleans and the surrounding area. They were among the lucky ones. They lost a great deal of personal property, but not a single one of them lost their lives.

We're all trying to do our part to help as the disaster relief efforts continue. If you'd like to offer aid but simply aren't sure how, you can do so through the American Red Cross. Or, if you have goods/clothing/food/services to donate, you can do so at your local Salvation Army.
