Flash Lesson 10: Creating a New Scene

Sunday October 16, 2005
In the last lesson, we learned to make rollover buttons that would allow the user to choose from a set of as-yet-undefined options that would determine how our movie ends. Now, in this lesson, we're going to learn about scenes, which are basically separate movies set up all in one file. This lesson covers how to create new scenes, how to modify them, how to arrange their order, and how to duplicate them.

In the next lesson we'll tie the two together: using ActionScripting to link the buttons to the scenes, so that clicking on a button triggers a particular movie. In the meantime, though, a lot of supplementary material has been added to the Flash Animation Tutorials archive, so take some time to take a look at that and give the extra little tips a shot.
