Muting Sound While Working in Flash

Wednesday July 2, 2008
Sorry for my absence in the past week, folks. I've been in Chicago planning a move, and while I was there my trustworthy, durable laptop decided not to be so trustworthy or durable anymore, making working while traveling a little difficult. Hardware failures can be almost as fun as one of the major "delights" of freelancing: getting stuck working on a project with client-supplied graphics or sound effects that are so obnoxious that dealing with them for the duration of the project is enough to send you to the loony bin. While the customer may always be right, the customer doesn't always have good taste - but while I may not be able to help you protect your eyes from glaring graphics (unless you want to use sunglasses), you can at least spare yourself the maddening repetition of horrid audio clips by using Flash's Mute Sounds option.
