Anime Studio Pro 6 Release, Review

Wednesday June 10, 2009
Hot on the heels of yesterday's release and review of Anime Studio Debut comes today's release of the upgraded version, Anime Studio Pro - which aims to transition the basic product from a beginner's animation program to a studio-quality professional animation program. After yesterday's enthusiastic run-through of Debut, I confess I was a little disappointed by Pro; while it's still a great program full of useful tools and unique features, the Pro version's upgrades didn't blow me out of the water in their advances over Debut.

I will admit to being impressed by the LUA scripting feature, which has the potential to be a real breakthrough for Smith-Micro...but you can read more about that in the full review, which covers just what's new and whether or not Anime Studio Pro 6 is worth the $199 price (which is still a great deal cheaper than most studio-quality animation programs).
