Question: Does Image Morphing Count as Animation?
So there's some nifty image morphing software that lets you create video of one image blending and warping into another - but does that really count as animation?
Answer: Technically, by the strictest sense of the word...yes. An animation is simply a collection of artificial (as opposed to videotaped) images played in sequence to create the illusion of motion or some other change, and the image morphing videos classify as that.

Purists, though, will argue that it doesn't really count because it's only a piece of software interpolating between starting and ending points. Computer animation skews even that, though, because tweening in digital programs does the same: takes a starting and ending point and interpolates what frames lie between. It's just a matter of differentiating between source materials and the end result.

Final verdict? Yes, it is animation, hokey as it may be. Congratulations. You morphed a squirrel into a squid. You're an animator. Say that in front of someone who spent a month painstakingly hand-drawing, inking, and painting a single minute of 2D animation, though, and I can't vouch for your safety.
