As the movie clip is right now, it will play through in a cycle of expanding and shrinking without stopping. We need to insert a basic stop on the first keyframe so that it doesn’t start animating the thumbnail until we tell it to, and then insert another stop on the second keyframe so that the expanded version holds until we tell it to.

Right-click on the first keyframe, insert a stop, then do the same with the second keyframe.
