ActionScripting Basics: Basic Date Functions

After you’ve inserted your stop, stay in the Actions pane for that frame. Usually we’ve assigned actions to objects, but in this case the only object that we have is the text box, and that really won’t work out that well. (Just trust me on this one.)

Insert a new ActionScript by drilling down to Objects->Core->Date->newDate. In order to do anything involving date and time, we need to create a new date object that we can refer to by name when calling any other functions related to the day, month, or year.
