Copying a Filled Shape to Make Another Instance of Fireworks

Use the Arrow Tool to select your fireworks burst and then select Edit->Copy (keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C) to copy the entire set of shapes. Then lock your first fireworks layer, and create a new one (mine is named Fireworks 2, fairly obvious) and paste the shapes onto the new layer. The reason for this is because we’re going to change the color of the fill and we need to keep the shape unlocked for that.
