One option that you can configure is the brush size--from downright miniscule to a fairly large size, letting you draw finer details or fill in larger areas. It's easy to change your brush size--just select the dropdown (the brushes displayed in the dropdown will change based on the shape of the brush selected) and choose one of the available preset sizes.
