Pressure Sensitivity and Fill Locking

The little calligraphic dash next to the paint options controls the pressure sensitivity, and only works if you have a graphics tablet with a pressure-sensitive pen. When this is active you can control the size of the brush based on the pressure of your tablet pen's point/nib, just as you would with a normal pen (see above for an example of size variation in a single stroke).

The last option is the Lock Fill button, at the bottom of the toolbar. It controls how your gradient fills are applied and is also used on the Paint Bucket tool; usually, if you're using a gradient fill on multiple shapes, each will fill with a complete range of the gradient. However, if you apply your gradients with the Lock Fill button selected, the range of the gradient will span across multiple shapes.
