Flash “Coloring Book” with setRGB
setRGB is a function that allows you to change the color of a symbol’s fill at a whim, triggered by an event—the loading of the movie, a mouse click, reaching a certain frame. Let’s look at how it can be used to set up a coloring book that lets users flood-fill areas of artwork with their chosen colors.

Start off by creating plain linework in Flash. I’d recommend drawing this in Flash or, if you draw it externally, importing it and then either using Trace Bitmap to get clean lines, or retracing it using the Pen Tool. If you just draw it and then import it as-is, you’re going to have an awful time painting in fills on top of it without overlapping your lines.
