Flash Cursor Spotlight Revisited

Last week we created a typical mouse-following spotlight effect that allowed the user to direct the spotlight in order to reveal a scene hidden beneath a completely opaque layer of black. This week, let’s try a subtler—and slightly simpler—spotlight effect that won’t completely obscure the scene, and will be more useful for those experimenting with simulating subtle lighting effects when animating scenes.

I’m just re-using my base scene from the first spotlight lesson, but with the black overlay removed.
