Flash Tip: Program Tools: Movie Explorer

The Movie Explorer, available under Controls->Movie Explorer, lets you browse everything in your scene in a Windows-Explorer-style tree format, with a hierarchy of in the movie--listed both by layer/frame location, and by type. You can use this to select items to edit without having to try to click them from a tangle of objects in a complex scene or find them when they're hidden under something else.

The buttons at the top of the window let you hide or show objects by type: Text, Buttons, Action Scripts, Video Sound and Bitmap, and Frames and Layers. The last button opens a customization dialogue.
