Flash Tip: Paste in Place

By Adrien-Luc Sanders, About.com

1 of 3

Paste in Place is a method of pasting something in your Flash scene in the exact position that it was in when you copied it. This is especially useful in two situations:

1. You accidentally created something on the wrong layer and need to move it to the exact same spot on a new layer;
2. You’re working on traditional animation, but adjusting created elements from frame to frame and need to use the original position as a reference (such as in the image above).

Just start off as you normally would; select the object to be copied or cut, and then click either Edit->Copy or Edit->Cut.
