Adjusting for Perspective

If you take the top and bottom handles on the left-hand side and move them inwards vertically to scale down just that one wall of the rectangle, it makes the wall appear to recede in the viewer’s field of vision--just as real objects seem to look smaller the farther away that they are. This gives the illusion of three-dimensional depth, rather than simply two flat rectangles placed next to each other.
