The Skew Function

First create a motion tween using a symbol, any symbol, in horizontal motion so that we can show a distorting effect from that motion. To do this, we’ll use the Free Transform Tool—which can at times be your best friend in making seemingly difficult tasks quite simple. With the Free Transform Tool set as your active tool, hover your mouse along the top or bottom edge of the transformation bounding box until the cursor turns into an odd little shape that looks like two halves of a bisected arrow turned at odds to each other; this means that any transformations that you make will skew the shape.
