Flash Tip: Swap Symbol

Details I

Flash's Swap Symbol function is exactly like the Swap Bitmap function--only instead of changing out bitmap/raster images with others in your library, you're changing out symbols with others in your library. This gives you a bit of a greater range--because instead of being stuck with just switching one image with another of its type, you can swap out buttons with movie clips, movie clips with graphic symbols, or any other range of symbol types to replace an existing symbol in your scene with another while aligning it with the original symbol's position (this is great for swapping out images on states for button rollovers).

To swap a symbol with another, right-click on the symbol and select Swap Symbol.
