Flash Tip: View Outlines

Details

Sometimes, when you're working with a slow computer that doesn't render complex graphics very easily, picking up and moving about those complex graphics in Flash can create quite a bit of hang or lag time.

Quick and easy fix? Turn off the graphic view and look at the outlines alone. You can do this by going to View->Outlines to view only the bounding boxes of the various objects on your screen; you can tell their layer by the color of the box. To turn the option off so you can see the fully-detailed version of your scene, just switch to any of the other views: Fast, Antialias, or Antialias Text (the default).
