Deconstructing the Paint Application IX: Brush Size and Opacity Sliders

By , About.com Guide

2 of 6

Assign variable names to your input text boxes. Mine are called bsize and opac; see if you can figure out which stands for which. On the flash stage I’ve also set default values for each one, but it’s not necessary as long as on your loading frame, you set the values to your default starting values. I’ve set my brush size to start at 2 pixels and my opacity to start at 100%.

You may recall that these variables were used in the lesson explaining the Flash drawing API and setting up the brush tool; now you can reference this lesson and those on the other tools with that one to see where the variables fit in.
