Dry Brush Technique

Definition: Dry brush is a technique used before the introduction of computer-generated special effects in 2D animation (and still used sometimes today). Animators would use thick paint, greasepaint, and rouge and brush it onto the front of animation cels for a motion blur effect or to create special textures.
