Flash Valentine's Card

Starting Off

This Valentine's card is actually pretty easy to make, but it uses alpha effects in both animations and gradients in ways that we haven't really used before to create a soft, almost ephemeral look to the animation, filling the space while leaving a clean look. The lesson is also a good practice in using almost every last simple animation technique that we've learned.

To start with, let's create a new document. I want to go with a pretty standard size and aspect ratio, so I made mine 400x300. I'm not worrying about a background color on mine, because I'm going to fill it with a gradient in the next step.
