Creating an Easy Heart

Exit your movie clip and return to your main stage. Now we're going to add quirky little hearts to the scene; I've made my hearts very simply, by drawing an oval taller than it was wide and then duplicating the oval and positioning them so they aligned vertically and then overlapped evenly to create the two upper curves of the heart.

The actual precise shape of the heart is made using the Subselection Tool. Selecting the entire shape with the subselection too lets you manipulate the individual vertices; a lot of unnecessary vertices can be deleted, leaving you with just enough to define your shape. You can drag individual vertices about until the shape suites you, and then grab the "handles" extending from each vertex to pull them about to adjust the curve.
