Flash Kids' Corner: Taking Bobo to the Circus

In Lesson 1 we drew Bobo, the little round, chubby-bottomed mouse. But since Bobo looks a little lonely sitting there all by himself, let’s draw a background and take him to the circus.

For that we’re going to use a new tool called the Pen Tool. The Pen Tool is on the Tools bar on the left side of the screen, outlined in blue on the picture above. The Pen Tool lets you create points connected by both straight and curvy lines, kind of like a game of connect-the-dots.

When you click on the Pen Tool, you can look down at the bottom of the screen in the Properties pane to pick colors for a fill and an outline. The fill color is shown by a little paint bucket; the outline color is shown by a little pencil. Pick whatever colors you like.
