Creating "Animated" Drawings with SnagIt

Once you’ve navigated back to your drawing workspace, then click “Start”. The window will disappear, and you can start drawing; SnagIt will record every mouse movement and brush stroke, including the cursor and any new windows or workspaces that you open.

Caution: if you alt-tab away or mouse away from the window you’re working in, SnagIt will capture the other windows that are in focus on your screen.

To stop recording, just hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard. The program will ask you if you want to stop recording; it will also have an option to resume, in case you just needed to pause. When you’re done, tell it to stop recording and it will take you back to the SnagIt editor, with a preview of your video. Click the “Save Video” button to save your video so you can edit it as you see fit in any program of your choosing.

You should have a saved animation similar to mine, above…only I hope you spent more than a few seconds on yours, and didn’t try to draw with the mouse like I did. (My cat seems to have kidnapped my tablet pen, and I can’t find it!)
