Flash Tip: Sorting Swatches by Color

By Adrien-Luc Sanders, About.com

You're likely well aware of the default 216-swatch color palette that Flash gives you to choose from by default - but did you know you can sort that palette by colors? In Flash CS3 or CS4, click on the Swatches tab next to the Color tab in your toolsets (usually on the right by default), then click on the little options / menu tab (should be in the right corner, downward pointing arrow next to several small lines). Click Sort by Color and the palette will rearrange itself according to colors and hues, rather than in the default mode of diverse color blocks in various shades.
