In a previous post I discussed the difficulty of making yourself memorable to potential employers, and a few tips on some extra efforts you can make to leave a lasting impression and also have physical samples of your work right at their fingertips without needing to load a demo reel into the VCR, DVD player, or computer.

But what about the demo reel itself? Although it's good to go the extra mile to be noticed in other areas, the demo reel is still the main presentation piece that will display your work in a comprehensive audio-visual format, and it shouldn't be neglected. While I can't tell you exactly how to put your demo reel together, I can offer a few guidelines on doing it professionally and responsibly.
