Holiday Lesson Review: Build Your Own Flash Snowman

Sunday November 26, 2006
'Tis the season to be...creative? (Forgive me for being a little too creative with song lyrics.) Winter's settling in for a good, long haul, shrugging its snowy shoulders, and hunkering down in anticipation of the holiday season. Winter means warm homes, cool nights, and best of all - snowmen! If you don't want to go out in the cold or if you just don't get snow for winter (I know we don't here in Houston), why not build your own snowman in Flash? Going through this series of lessons will walk you through creating your own custom-snowman application, and is a great review for beginner lessons on gravity, squash, and stretch, working with sounds, and basic actionscripting.

Lessons:

  • Flash Animation 14: Gravity, Squash, and Stretch
  • Flash Animation 15: Starting and Stopping Sound Effects
  • Flash Animation 16: Adding Sound to Buttons
  • Flash Animation 17: Controlling Movie Clips With Buttons and ActionScripting
  • Flash Animation 18: Controlling Movie Clips II
  • Flash Animation 19: Drag and Drop ActionScripting Commands
