Creating The Brush Cursor

The next step is to create the brush cursor. Mine is a nested symbol; because I want the color of my cursor to reflect the currently-set color and opacity, I created a solid-fill circle with no outline, converted it to a symbol with the instance name cursorbrush. Then, on top of it, I added a black outline that will not change, before grouping them together in a new symbol with the instance name brushcursor. This way I can change the size and positioning of both at once, but at the same time script commands that affect only the inner fill without changing the outline.

The current color and size don’t matter, as we’ll control those dynamically while the movie is running.
